My Current Favorite Hair Products

You guys always ask me what my favorite hair products are, so I figured I’d update you on my current favorites. If you have blonde hair or like to keep brass at bay, then I’m sharing everything I use whenever my hair is looking brassy. I’ve shared a ton of hair tutorials on my IG, so be sure to check out my reels! If you’re interested in what my favorite hot tools are, then check out this blog post. I also wrote an entire post on how I grew out my hair and other tips for healthy hair (which you guys always ask me about) in this post. Anyway, keep reading for a breakdown of all my current favorite hair products…

SHAMPOO + CONDITIONER:

I like to switch up my shampoo and conditioner often and I think it’s good for your hair to do so! These have been in my rotation for a while and even when I’m trying new products, I always seem to go back to these!

Although the above products are specifically for blondes, non-blondes can use those products too! Here’s another option from the same brand that I like for dry, damaged hair (any hair color).

If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly option, here’s a line that I really like! … Kerastase is owned by L’Oreal Paris so I view them both in the same family ;)

PURPLE SHAMPOO FOR BLONDES:

Purple shampoo and purple toning gloss makes a huge difference in my blonde color! If I go too long without using anything, my hair definitely pulls more yellowy/ orange hues so the purple products really help my hair look like a brighter blonde color! There’s a few that I like from the Kerastase line but I also use the L’Oreal Paris line (which is more budget-friendly) and they both work great. The Le Color toning gloss in Cool Blonde definitely gives the most immediate difference has the most bang for your buck! I always get asked how often I use these and it’s really just whenever I feel like my hair is looking more brassy. I don’t use more than once a week but sometimes I’ll go weeks in between using. I have to be careful to not leave on too long because sometimes my lighter strands will absorb the purple and I’ll come out looking a little too ashy. If you’re new to purple products, start small and just leave them in for a few minutes to see how your hair does with them. Linking my favorites below!

HAIR MASKS:

There are a few masks that I really like to use after shampooing to add moisture back into my hair. I always leave masks in as long as possible (I’ll shave my legs and wash my face while the mask is doing its thing). Masks are really important if you use a lot of heat or color your hair! If you’re afraid of your hair looking greasy, just apply to the ends of your hair and face framing layers (those tend to get the most heat damage) and avoid the roots. SCALP CARE:

Healthy hair starts at the scalp! Your scalp health is very important for hair growth and we have to treat it like the skin on our face (cleanse and hydrate)! If you’re washing your hair and kind of scratch your scalp and notice white product buildup under your nails… you need to clean your scalp!  There’s probably loads of dry shampoo and other product clogging your hair follicles and preventing growth! I like to use this scalp massager to help stimulate hair follicles (which promotes growth) and to break up buildup (from dry shampoo and other products). Just massage your scalp with it when you have your hair suds up with shampoo. You can also use it when you have conditioner in your hair. This scalp serum also helps to strengthen and thicken hair. I use a few droppers on my scalp after showering! This is a pre-wash mask treatment is another great scalp product that helps to detox your scalp without drying it out! I use it when I feel like I’ve accumulated some buildup. Linking everything below!

HEAT PROTECTANTS:

Heat protectants are an absolute must and I totally notice a difference when I’m not using them. When I first brush out my hair, I use my leave in conditioner spray that not only helps to detangle, but also protects hair from heat up to 450º. Then I use my blow dry cream and finish with my favorite oil! I’ll link everything below and you can also watch this video here to see my process! Products from the video linked here. I use those products on wet hair, but when I’m using heat on dry hair or second day hair, I’ll use this oil and this heat protectant spray.

DRY SHAMPOO:

Finding a dry shampoo that you love can take some trial and error but once you do, it really makes a huge difference! Over washing your hair can really dry it out and damage it so I try to spread out my washes and dry shampoo is a lifesaver! Here’s a couple that I’ve been using lately!

HAIRSPRAY:

Hairspray is one product that I’m not super picky with… there’s a handful that I like and I really don’t mind switching them up! I’ll link them here along with my anti-humidity spray that I can’t live without in the summer or on warm weather trips! It’s amazing!!

TEXTURE SPRAY:

If hairspray and dry shampoo had a baby, it would be texture spray. My favorite is this one from Drybar. It helps give your hair some extra volume and if you want a little bit of a tousled, messy look, textured spray is perfect! Linking a few other good ones below!

GEL & WAX:

If you’re going for a slicked back bun or pony hairstyle, these products will keep your hair in place all day! I love this wax stick because it doesn’t get your hands all messy. If you want more of a hard, slicked, wet look… this gel is amazing!

BRUSHES

I’ve found that there is no one brush that does the trick when it comes to styling my hair depending on the look I’m going for. For brushing straight out of the shower, I use this Wet Brush. For blowdrying, I use this paddle brush. If I’m doing a slicked back bun look, I like to use this brush to smooth out bumps. For parting and slicking back, I also use this comb set. Finally, the round brush I use for a blow out is linked here.
